Celebrating Service at the 2nd Annual Be Like Bianca Day
On November 6, 2024, Foundation 4Life proudly marked its 2nd Annual Be Like Bianca Day of Service in Salt Lake City. This year’s event saw 4Life employees come together to create over 4,000 literacy and math kits for first graders and their families in the Granite School District. The kits, crafted by former educators who now focus on math and literacy, aim to engage young learners and support their educational journey.
Alaina Wilcock, a Family Engagement Teacher Specialist, emphasized the importance of community partnerships, noting, "We couldn’t do what we do without community partners. Engagement from Foundation 4Life and 4Life employees means everything—especially as we enter the holiday season." This collaboration is crucial, as national statistics reveal a significant gap between parent perceptions and student performance in literacy and math. While around 90% of parents believe their children are on grade level, only 30% of students actually meet those benchmarks. The kits are designed to provide parents and students with resources to engage in fun and educational activities at home.
Jadee Talbot, Executive Director of the Granite Education Foundation, praised Foundation 4Life's dedication and commitment over the years. “It’s awesome days like this that empower us to do what we do in the school district,” she said.
4Life was founded in 1998 by Dave and Bianca Lisonbee, who later established Foundation 4Life in 2006 as a way to fulfill Bianca’s lifelong commitment to service. Following Bianca's passing in 2023, her daughter Jenna Lisonbee has carried on her legacy through the Be Like Bianca Day of Service, ensuring that Bianca’s spirit of giving lives on.
4Life continues its mission as the first company to bring transfer factor research to market, with operations spanning numerous countries. This commitment to service and education highlights the vital role businesses can play in supporting local communities and enhancing the learning experiences of children.
